ABOUT PASTOR STEVE

Steve Barker has served in pastoral ministry for over 20 years.
He was born and raised in the Kleinburg/Woodbridge area just north of Toronto. He sensed a call from God to ministry in his high school years. He has taught and lead at various children’s and youth camps across Ontario. He served as a youth pastor in two churches and in 2006 with a small team planted Hope Community Christian Church in Cumberland Beach where he serves as Lead Pastor today.

Steve is a passionate, evangelistic Bible teacher. He teaches a number of seminars on spiritual gifts, leadership, prayer, spiritual freedom and church outreach. He has a deep passion to see people come to faith in Jesus Christ and fulfill their calling from God as they serve through their local church.

He has a Bachelor of Religious Education from Heritage Bible College, a Master of Practical Ministry from Wagner University and is currently pursuing further graduate studies in theology at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto.

Along with love for his wife Joanne and their children and serving in ministry, he enjoys skiing, golfing, hockey, fishing, and watching the Toronto Raptors win!
